Led by Chef Jose Icardi, Diez y Seis is a Mexican restaurant with a renegade take on classic cuisine. Paying homage to Mexico's culinary contribution, Diez y Seis delivers a twist on the classics, at the iconic Shore Club hotel.
The story: On September 16, 1810, Father Miguel Hidalgo rang the bell of his church in the town of Dolores, giving rise to Mexico’s war of independence against Spain. This event and the speech that followed are now enshrined in Mexican history, celebrated every year as Mexican Independence Day.
Diez y Seis is the most Mexican of holidays, the day that brings everyone together in their shared love of country. It is a celebration of both Mexican tradition and Mexican rebellion, an apt metaphor for Chef Icardi’s renegade take on classic cuisine. And much like the holiday it’s named after, every trip to our restaurant is cause for celebration. It’s a fun, welcoming place where friends, family, and neighbors can get together in shared appreciation of where Mexico has been—and where it’s going.
